In November, Mikayla and I headed to Lancaster for my cousin's wedding. We have somewhat bittersweet memories, as Mikayla got sick our first night there, and had trouble the rest of the weekend, especially at night. Poor little girl! (and my poor sister who had to suffer through the nights with us in the same hotel room.) She really was a trooper, and in the end, she really seemed to enjoy herself at the wedding, and even managed a few smiles.
Our dishwasher went out a couple of weeks ago, and I walked into the kitchen to find Scott trying to fix it, with a little help from someone sweet. Even the handyman has to do his jobs with kids in tow I guess!
Each year, the Woodlands has an ice skating rink close to Market Street. We took the kids for the first time last weekend. After working through a few skate snafus (TJ had blisters!) they ended up having great time. As the end of our two hour session neared, TJ, really got the hang of it, and actually went around several times without his "walker." They are anxious to go back and try it again!
We also recently headed to to see Santa, an annual activity that the boys still enjoy. In addition to chatting with Santa in person, the boys also frequently can be seen sticking their heads up the chimney at home and "talking" to Santa, to make sure they don't forget to tell him certain things. Scott and I got a good laugh out of Mrs. Claus....at one point she feel asleep in her chair in between kids while we were waiting in line. We are thinking Mr. and Mrs. Claus get picked up from the local senior center each year...
Mikayla, on the other hand, clearly did not have an appreciation for this fat man with the crazy white beard. So we have the classic baby crying photo for 2012. A
