Spring Fever

The weather this past week has just been fabulous...a true Texas winter week.  Hi in the mid 60's, and lows at night in the 50's.  We've been playing hard, and the kids have been tuckered out at the end of the day.  And, the days are getting longer...

Last Friday - Scott and Mark took the kids to the firestation dowtown to visit Ashley on the job, and then the boat/RV show.  This picture is of TJ and Uncle Ash.)

Last Saturday - though a bit chillier, spent a great day at home with Von, Andrea and Ally, and the Gundens, and Scott brewed up a batch of beer.
Last Sunday - Scott ran the marathon (see previous post)
Monday - Scott took the kids to the zoo with Ashley and the boys.  It was a free day since it was Martin Luther King day, and in Scott's facebook said: A free day at the zoo = a zoo in the zoo.  But they had a ball.
Tuesday - Took the kids to the library, then played at the park next door where the kids proceeded to collect "all" the leaves in the park in the park provided doggie poop bags.  (45 minutes of entertainment??)  Then, we threw frisbee, rode scooters and bikes, and played catch in the front yard with Mimi.
Wednesday - Lucky Cafe for Vietnamese food and then straight to bed!
Thursday - The kids had a friend over and we climbed trees and took a trip to the pond.
Friday - Took the kids to a Haiti benefit concert at Market Street where several bands from Austin were in town.
Saturday - Spent several hours at the local Arbor Day festival.  I have never seen so many bounce houses lined up at once!  The kids had a ball jumping, sliding, racing cars, checking out the fire truck, and running willy nilly all over the park.  We came home, went to the park to play frisbee, and then the boys helped Scott plant 20 trees behind our fence to help fill in the spot where we lost the old oak tree in the hurricane last year.  They are pooped!

(Notice that Chili and Jiffy got in on the action!)

There ya have it.  A fairly typical week in the life of the Gunden Schmuckers!
