Random Photos Tell a Story, and, Mikayla Rides a Bike

Pictures not attached to any particular event can sometimes just tell a much bigger story, with no words necessary.  With our phones in our back pockets, we can literally take a picture within seconds of seeing something noteworthy, though the quality takes a hit, but more of the everyday activities are captured when you don't have to haul out the big and heavy SLR.

Additionally, Mikayla has learned to ride a bike.  We had a balance bike (with no pedals) and she was clearly coasting, so we called up our neighbors who we knew had this tiny pedal bike, and within 24 hours, here is what she is doing.  It's always a trick now to help her start and stop, but before we know it, she will be riding to school with us in the morning!  She is very proud of herself and always has a big smile.

This one of the boys is just one of our after school activities.  The other boy in the video is Bas, family friends from the Netherlands who we are really enjoying.  We will have an exchange program in upcoming summers!  Karin, Bas's  mom, is shown in the video of Mikayla doing the zip line.

Mikayla has made some great progress swimming.  By the end of the summer, she decided it wasn't so bad to put her face in the water, and she could pretty well touch the bottom of the pool, so I hope we are quickly on our way to swimming next summer!

When Mimi was here, we took a beautiful bike ride around The Woodlands and made a pit stop at the skate park.  Mikayla was begging to go over the ramps as well and laughed every time.  She is just not afraid of anything!

This dance video just speak for itself.  Regina just loves to get Mikayla all dressed up, and Mikayla loves to perform.  I am totally going to have to learn this arm move.
