We are well into our fall schedule, and I feel like it is worth the time (for me at least!) to take note of the schedule, as I think that looking back to see the activities and coordination on a daily basis will be something of interest.
The daily chore sheet takes into consideration activities for the day. For example, if TJ has library on Wednesday, he needs to do his book summaries the night before. This schedule hangs on the refrigerator as a daily reminder, for both us and the kids. While TJ dutifully needs to read the list each day, Luka has each day memorized and rarely references it. The difference in kids is so amazing.
4:00 - Drums for TJ
4:45 - Kid's Zumba for M
5:30 - Soccer for L
Once we are out the door at 3:30, we have to remember the snacks, homework, basketball, shin guards, etc since we wont' be home until 6:45. This is our one night that Subway is regular, if Scott is not home and I have full kid duty.
TUESDAY
7:00 a.m. - Choir for TJ
3:00 - Piano for L
7:00 - B-ball for TJ
Have to remember the choir folder each Tuesday, and Luka has to remember to leave school 5 minutes early to walk across the parking lot to Esprit school for his piano lesson. Have to coordinate if TJ will meet us at the park after Luka's piano lesson, depending on the weather, or if the neighbor's babysitter will pick them up instead.
WEDNESDAY
A free day!!! We often try to knock out some homework figure out how to work a bit ahead. TJ love to mow the yard and says he wants to start a lawn mowing business, so he often takes it upon himself to mow on Wednesdays.
THURSDAY
7:00 a.m. - Choir for TJ (the last Thursday of each month)
3:30 - Destination Imagination for L
Destination Imagination is a fantastic extra-curricular program that teaches kids to think outside of the box. It is the exact type of brain training that I never had. Which is why, quite frankly, once my box is defined, I prefer to stay in it. For my kids, I hope to expose them to teamwork, creative thinking, and problem solving through many different avenues, and this program supports that goal. With that said, it is many hours of work, because the parents cannot at all assist. The only thing they can do, for example, is go buy the lumber that the team requests in order to build their prop. Now, let's just hope that Luka has a good experience and that the parents don't get burned out trying to watch these kids figure out what they need to do without intervening.

Saturdays are packed, and they are so much fun! We are pretty beat by Saturday night though. Sundays we try to get to church a couple of Sundays a month and focus on finishing up any homework or project work. And overall, a sleep in and rest day. Not unusual to have a birthday party on a Sunday as well. I love to go out on Sunday mornings for my jog, while the house is still sleeping. #whatissleepingin?
