3rd (or 4th) Annual Memorial Day Weekend

We had our third annual Memorial Day gathering at the lake.  It was as bit bittersweet for a couple of reasons.  First, our friends, the Bonniwells, are pretty much packed up and headed for Denver.  With the United base opening up to Continental pilots, they couldn't pass up the opportunity to move back to their homeland and get back to their roots.  Can't blame them, but they will certainly be missed in many ways!  Memorial Day weekend will never quite be the same. 

Second, seems that our clan had a bit of a virus that lingered for a few days, and hit each of us at different times.  By Sunday night, I was in bed at 7:30, Scott still wasn't feeling great, so the Bonniwells said "adios" and hit the road in hopes of avoiding the bug.  I ended up sleeping a full 12 hours, and while we still didn't feel great, we did manage to have some good quality time on Monday, again enjoying the pool, the jet ski, and the beach.

Luka is always in the water.  Before you know it, he's got his life-jacket on and has jumped in the lake.  You have to keep tabs on that one!

Mikayla held true to her reputation and LOVED the beach.  Unfortunately, she loved to walk straight into the waves (and giggled when one hit her chest) but she wasn't exactly satisfied just building sand castles.  No relaxing at the beach with this one right now.

 

 

 

 We also had a another birthday celebration for TJ.  Ang and Seth and family joined us on Sunday for cupcakes and sorbet treats, which even the adults seemed to love.
