First Day of School

Luka and TJ were both pretty excited to start school today.  Luka kept saying last night, "I can't believe I am going to Sally K. Ride!"  As they were crawling into bed, they both were just wishing they could be there "right now."

The morning was as expected.  A bit rough getting up and keeping moving, but no major meltdowns.  We decided the night before on pancakes and strawberries for breakfast.  We also had decided that Luka would not be riding his bike.  He tried to ride to "Meet the Teacher Night" on Thursday, and he fell and crashed before we even got out of the neighborhood.  We turned around, and he ended up riding in the baby carrier on the back on the bike.  Everyone is much happier, and it is less stress all around.  So, for today, and who knows for how long going forward, Luka will ride in the bike trailer. 

TJ's teacher is Mrs. Gaylord, and Luka's teacher is Mrs. Leddin.

For Mikayla's part, she got to go to her first day of story time at the library.  She seemed to enjoy it.  She actually listened to the story I think.  At one point, she got up from my lap and went to sit right next to another little girl her age.  Guess she was trying to make friends!
