Once on-board, even though we kept getting lost and losing our sense of direction on the boat, we managed to head out to the sail away party. It was a beautiful day and we were soaking in the sun while we waited for our luggage to arrive in our rooms.
We were so fortunate to have great weather, great rooms (with a balcony) and great food the entire time. There were so many things to do on-board: swim, eat, do crafts, eat, dance, eat, play games, eat, go to a show, etc. You get the picture. The shows ranged from theater like productions to dancing, to comedy, to drumming; all unique and very entertaining.
This is me having a nice relaxing time by the pool, curling up and reading a good book...er, I mean, watching It's a Bug's Life on the big outdoor screen.
TJ seemed to especially enjoy the basketball, pool, and kid's club. On the last day, he spent almost the entire day in the kid's club, and then got to do a final performance on the big stage with Mickey and Minnie Mouse. He was so excited and so proud! Another highlight for him was singing karaoke with dad to "Sweet Home Alabama." Mikayla went up at the end as a back up dancer and was not shy at all.
Luka, for his part, wanted to be with either mom or dad, and was happy doing crafts and learning to draw Pluto and Stitch. He really enjoyed just watching Disney cartoons on TV, but I think he also looked forward to all of the nightly shows. Buckets and Boards (from Branson, MO), two drummers who beat on 5 gallon cans, was a favorite of his. I think the picture of the 3 kids says it all - a little bit sun burned, most likely pretty pooped, but not gonna think about turning down an opportunity for Disney cartoons!
Mikayla, well, she was a party animal. All she really seemed to want to do was dance, and she never turned down the opportunity. She also got to see several shows, and she was glued to them each time. Her attention span for a 2-yr old, to sit through an entire show and enjoy it, was pretty remarkable. Mikayla also had a love hate relationship with the Disney characters. She was always on the lookout for Mickey Mouse, but once she saw him, she seemed to be terrified and was always relieved when she could say good-bye through all her tears. The closest she ever got was to Donald duck; somehow Scott coerced her into actually touching him. And for the record, Goofy can really bust a move with some fancy dancing!

The kids did pretty well at the meals, but the servers were fantastic. They catered to the kids, cutting their food for them, putting nice little Micky Mouse ketchup designs on their plates, and of course offering them dessert at ever meal. Mikayla especially seemed to always look forward to desserts!
One special night was pirate night; even the adults got in on the fun and had a mighty fine time. There was a very cool party on the deck that night, with a lot of dancing, and Mickey came down on a zip line and fireworks exploded. We never got a great picture because there was too much sword fighting going on, but we did get some good outtakes! Mikayla missed the party that night, but I think TJ was up until 11:30 that night shooting hoops with dad after the party, and eating pizza with the teenage boys!
One of my personal favorite meals was breakfast. My favorite spot was up on the top deck overlooking the back of the boat. One morning, the night after pirate party that went so late, I was even able to enjoy breakfast and coffee by myself and read my book for about 30 minutes. What a luxury!
Another special night was the formal night. The kids were excited to dress up in the ties they had picked out. But honestly, halfway through the meal, they were already annoyed with them and the ties had come off!
