Scott turned the big 40 yesterday. This milestone birthday admittedly has not overly joyful for either of us, but Scott has been a tremendous sport and decided to make the most of it. We had a fabulous evening with our closest friends who were unbelievably all able to make it. (5 couples) Hard to believe we've known some of them now for over 15 years. Our kid free evening included much appreciated adult conversation, Chick-Fil-A, and Superman ice cream...all at the special request of the birthday boy. Ont Onchee graciously gave up her evening to take care of the boys inside, but we did manage to sing happy birthday and present a cake to Scott that I had made with the boys the day before. They had been looking forward to that part all day.

And so, life moves forward, and we look forward to our next activities. Due to flight schedules, we are planning on leaving tomorrow to head for Chicago, take the South Shore to South Bend, and then land in Goshen tomorrow evening. We will be with Mimi and Papa over lunch, and then drive with Grandma and Grandpa to Cleveland Monday morning to hook up with Scott's sister and family. Honestly, I'm ready for the vacation and am glad to be leaving tomorrow instead of Monday.
So...looking forward to seeing many of you over the next two weeks!
We had Norah Thursday, and TJ enjoyed feeding her cheerios.

At one point, Luka and Norah were entertaining each other under the kitchen table.
