A week ago, TJ had his 5-year old well check. Everything is on track. He is losing a bit of steam weight wise, but from a height perspective, he is maintaining pace. TJ had only been to the Dr. once this past year, for some eye drainage that turned into an infection. Overall...very healthy.
The night of his appointment, Scott noticed a bulge near his scrotum. TJ said he had no pain, so we continued to watch it. Over the course of the next few days, it seemed to come and go a bit. Today, Scott decided a visit to the Dr. was in order. He called at 2:15, and had an appt. for 3:15, so he quick packed up the kids and left the lake.
Turns out, he has has an Inguinal Hernia. It seems fairly common, and his is "reducible", meaning, it goes back in if it is pressed on gently. Nonetheless, we have an appointment with a specialist at St. Luke's downtown on Tuesday, and hope to get surgery taken care of before our trip to Indy at the end of the month.
...Let's see, Luka was in the hospital at 6 weeks for RSV, Luka then had surgery for his undescended testicle, then TJ had surgery for his toes, and now hernia surgery. At least on a day to day basis, the kids are extremely healthy, with rare trips to the Dr. We will remain very thankful for that!
