We enjoyed their company for nearly a week. They assisted with getting the kids to school and back, unpacking and packing lunches, making dinner, and a few sewing projects (and much more!) Mikayla enjoyed walks to the park and the boys had time to play games and worked on Christmas gift projects with G & G too. Overall, a fun time for all and we were sad to see them go!
They of course made the traditional Christmas morning cake. The kids always enjoy this project, and they now know what the finished result is too. Mikayla got in on the action this year, and ran around saying "cehke! cehke!"
TJ and Grandpa worked on the Human Body project that they gave him for Christmas. He really got into all of the question and answers and enjoyed quizzing the adults to see how "smart" we are. Took me back to 8th grade Health class.
Mikayla and Grandma enjoyed time in the "kitchen" having tea parties.
We tried to take a "nice" picture with grandparents and grandkids, but it just wasn't happening. So instead, the outtakes are kinda funny.
Each year for Christmas and birthdays, the grandparents generously write a check for the kids' college funds. This year, TJ opened his and said "Man, I keep getting these!" I responded, "Yep, you need to save all you can for college." He said, "I need that much??" One day, TJ, you will understand...
