We ended up on the same flight as Norah and Macy (and the parents), so that was indeed a fun flight for all, and made it easier to travel for sure. The kids are pretty smiley for it being 6:00 in the morning.
At the reunion, the weather did tend to keep us all inside a bit more than we had hoped, but we managed to have fun on our own, playing games and entertaining ourselves with the tradition of the talent show. Lavon put together a great slide show that was enjoyed and appreciated by each generation.
A few things to note that makes this reunion unique:
-2nd cousin Julian Good Mullet was born! Rosie and Merle were in an out and we were so thankful they could be in both places.
-The cycle of life was very real this weekend, as we also had to say good-bye to Aunt Lydia, Grandma Veva's sister, from a distance.
-The New York Welty-Wong Clan, despite Renetta's big role in helping to plan for the weekend, had a shorter trip than expected as the girls were struggling with fever. We (and Mikayla included) were so glad to see them for the short time we had.
Mikayla still talks about "the babies in New York." Just the other day she said, "Mom, why can't we live in New York with the babies? Wait...what are their names again?" Feeding both of them at breakfast was certainly a highlight for her! I think she will be excited to meet Julian!
The pool was definitely a hit as well. Wish I had a picture of three of the sisters whooping it up.
Wonder where the Garber Reunion 2017 will be??
