Flying the Friendly Skies

This past Friday morning, the four of us took off for the airport, but quickly headed our separate ways.  TJ and I headed for Indianapolis, and Scott and Luka turned west toward Seattle.

Carrie, Brooke and I met up in Indianapolis for a weekend of coffee drinking, kid chasing, toe freezing, and party-mix eating!  As always, we had a great time doing a whole lot of nothing!  TJ had a ball playing in the snow...he got familiar with snow angels and learned how to pack a snowball.  Too bad we only lasted outside about 30 minutes...after having taken 45 minutes to put on all the gear!  He thoroughly enjoyed the zip line and it was a highlight as always.

TJ had been expressing how excited he was to see his friend Xavier, and as soon as he left, he kept saying how much he missed him.  Luckily, we'll be able to see the whole Kandel Cisco Clan in a few days in Texas at the Gunden Schmucker Ranch.  It's so great to know that these two kids have an established relationship...and that it can continue to grow across the miles!

Meanwhile, back at the Stuckey Ranch, Scott and Luka had a real bonding trip.  Luka has continued his pattern of behavior of being an absolute angel anytime I am not in the picture.  So, thankfully, he and Scott shared some pretty special moments.  Scott got to jam with JJ's band two nights in a row, and Luka helped take care of baby Casey, Beasley (their schnauzer) and Chili.  Part of the fun was also an outing to Pike Street Market, where Luka enjoyed the fish toss and big chocolate donut!

On the way back, their flight got diverted to Las Vegas for a maintenance issue, so it was extra long and late.  Luka woke up this morning in his clothes, since he wouldn't let Scott put on his PJs when they got home.  I was trying to let Scott sleep in, but all Luka could do was complain that "Daddy forgot to put my pajamas on."  So, I once again woke up to Luka crying and whining for 2 hours, and didn't get to witness this angel of a child that people tell me exists.  Somewhere, someday...

  1. Xavier is so big! It's great that he and TJ can just pick up right where they left off, even at that age.
