We had a great trip with the kids! (Doesn't even compare to our trip two year ago.) They were wonderful travelers, even though they didn't sleep at all on Friday, they were troopers and were excited each time we crossed another state line. Luka kept asking the name of the roads we were on...
We arrived in time for dinner in Fayatteville, Arkansas to see the Rutledge Clan. Tamara served up a huge meal, mostly from her beautiful garden, and the kids had a ball together with Chilli and chasing the fireflys. We hit the local Farmer's market the the next morning before hitting the road and picked up some fresh vegetables and herbs.
Ian, Miko, TJ, and Luka:
We arrived Saturday and went straight to Brooke and Kumar's new house. It was so neat to see Xavier and TJ play together as if they were old buds. Before we knew it, all the kids were soaking wet in their clothes from the backyard pool and it was 10:00. We let Xavier and TJ have a slumber party which they thought was SO cool. Unfortunately, they were up until midnight!
Our house is about 4 blocks away from Brooke and Kumar's...we can see the Butler campus from the front door. There is a nice walking trail about a quarter of a mile away, and we will try to hit a park later today. MiMi comes tomorrow...
